Well just like everyone we are always excited for the weekend but this weekend we are especially excited as we've discovered something really special that we can't wait to share with you...(drumroll please)... The Naanwich!
Like most good things The Naanwich appeared completely out of the blue without much thought or planning. Whilst getting up early on a dark Scottish winter morning, in a rush to get to Glencoe ski resort before the queues on a promised bluebird powder day, the fridge was raided, some form of food was assembled and wrapped in tinfoil and forgotten about until lunchtime.
The bluebird powder day came as promised & the queues were beaten & we played in the glorious snow until our bodies started to kick & scream & demand a lunchbreak.
With red noses, numb fingers & noisy hunger we unwrapped the foil and took a bite. A moment's silence and then exchanges of knowing glances & noises of pleasant surprise and excitement. Then the birth of the naanwich happened exactly like this -
"Oh my God"
"What is this?!"
"This is amazing!"
"This should be a thing"
"Let's make it a thing?!"
"Ok, but what is it?"
"I think its a naan sandwich"
"Like a naanwich?"
"Ooooooh The Naanwich, I like The Naanwich"
If you would like to meet our tastebud blowing creation then come see us this weekend at Loch Lomond Shores Market where Turnip the Beet will be proudly launching the public debut of The Naanwich! We can't wait to share it with you!
By popular demand, the Loch Lomond Shores farmers and crafts market is now held every week in The Gathering, the open area next to SEA LIFE.
Join us at the Weekend Market from 10am on Saturdays and Sundays for homemade treats, arts & crafts, artisan food & drink and fresh produce from a wide selection of local producers and makers. There's hot coffee and food to eat while you browse, and plenty on offer to take home afterwards.
